NOISE FINE

Escapade Music Festival organizers have been fined for violating the city's noise permit.

According to Alta Vista City Councilor Marty Carr, the sound check could be heard from the festival grounds at the RA Centre on Sunday morning, before the official permit time began, at around 8am, even though the permit was valid from 1pm to 10:30pm.

The city's enforcement agency issued a $490 fine.

Organizers have yet to comment on the incident.
