School buses cancelled across eastern Ontario — except in Ottawa
Eastern Ontario is under a snowfall warning, prompting most school transportation agencies to cancel bus service on Wednesday. Ottawa, however, is the only major community where school buses will still be running.
Due to worsening weather, English-language school buses have been cancelled by Student Transportation of Eastern Ontario (STEO), the Renfrew County Joint Transportation Consortium and the Tri-Board serving the Kingston and Belleville areas. The French-language Ottawa CTSO has also cancelled buses outside the city. The Consortium de transport scolaire de l’Est, which does not serve Ottawa, made the same decision.
Two agencies will continue providing service within Ottawa: the Ottawa Student Transportation Authority (OSTA) and the French CTSO both confirmed that buses will operate. OSTA has warned families about possible delays, especially on Wednesday afternoon.
Most schools remain open. Because school procedures during transportation cancellations may vary, parents are advised to check with their specific school or school board.
No cancellations have been reported in western Quebec.
The Ottawa–Gatineau region is under a snowfall warning for Wednesday, with some areas expected to see snow continue into Thursday.
