In 2022, Canada registered a record population growth of 1,050,110 people. The largest population growth occurred in Ontario, Alberta and Quebec. The country's population is expected to exceed 40 million by the end of this year. Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) officials voted overwhelmingly in favor of a strike. It could start April 14th. Nearly 200,000 Quebecers are still without power on Saturday April 8 after a severe ice storm on Wednesday.

After the storm, tree branches, roads and cars in the southern part of the province, especially in the Montreal area, were covered with ice, power lines collapsed. One person died. A former Ontario public servant who embezzled more than $47 million in provincial funds over a decade has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
