More than 150,000 federal civil servants, on strike since last Wednesday, have blocked access to government buildings and key infrastructure in Ottawa as their union continues to negotiate with the government for higher wages and better conditions for remote work.

Tens of thousands of Canadians have signed a petition calling for the CRA to extend tax deadlines. The petition comes amid an ongoing strike by civil servants. The city estimates that the number of Calgary residents will increase by 110,000 by 2027.
